When in doubt, make a fool of yourself. There is a microscopically thin line between being brilliantly creative and acting like the most gigantic idiot on earth. So what the hell, leap. -Cynthia Heimel

It was all CPurl's fault.

Every bit of it.

CPurl and I went yarn shopping this past Saturday, and I was not necessarily going to buy any yarn at all, but she said I really should because it would be bad luck to go to a yarn store and not buy any yarn, especially if you go yarn shopping with your girlfriend. So then I was all "well if you are gonna all twist my arm like that then FINE- WHATever." And so I had to buy it, but it was her fault.

First we went to
Purlescence, in Sunnyvale, Ca. Although I have only been to Purlescence a few times, this is one of my all time favorite yarn stores! They carry all sorts of great yarn- Lorna's Laces, Claudia Handpaint, Malabrigo, Socks that Rock- loads of good stuff! Aaaaand... they have spinning stuff too- including Lorna's Laces Shepherd Wool Top superwash merino packaged in hanks sized just right for making socks.

This colorway is called "Vera" and may I say that the colors are suspiciously similar to my nest purchase, Socks that Rock in the colorway "January One"

Maybe the STR folks got with the Lorna's Laces folks and had a few glasses of wine and a dying party?

To continue my theme of pink (lighter pink this time!) I also picked up some Claudia Handpaint in "Geranium"

And more Claudia Handpaint in a colorway that I cannot remember the name of - this time from a lovely store called Commuknity, in San Jose.

Then we required nourishment (just in case the mexican food we had for lunch had worn off), so we made a pit stop at Starbucks (what girl's shopping day would be complete wothout Lattes?) where I go this

which I am showing you solely because it is very cute. I bought it to put into the birthday present of my niece, who is, unbelievably, even cuter than the duck-ette.

After that, we could have ended our knitting day, but (being gluttons for punishment) instead we moved on to our brand spankin' new LYS, Knit This Purl That (where, you will be pleased to know, I did not purchase any sock yarn).

1 That's what you say!:

I think you need to go to yarn rehab but give me all your yarn first so you won't be tempted when you get out.
